This tavern, built in the 1780’s, is structured in the traditional German style of Pennsylvania with full dovetail notching at the corners, not the usual style built in Tennessee. While it was used as a tavern, it also served as the Frederick Stump home for several years. The tavern eventually became the property of Cornelius Waggoner and served as his farmhouse. It now is used as abed and breakfast.
