Cedarwood

“Cedarwood” is currently a wedding venue owned by the Wright family. Built in the mid 1830’s by a prosperous farmer, Mr. Yarbrough, it was operated as a tavern and half-way house for the stage coach during that era. Whites Creek Pike has been documented as part of the Northern Route of the Trail of Tears in 1838 and this building stands as a historic witness site. It has been stated but not documented that President Jackson was a guest at the inn during his travels.
